Week 28 - Santos Family New Year Session

I absolutely LOVE when I have a session.  And although we don't have a studio and just go use any room.  It just flows seamlessly!  This tiny sweet girl and her parents came pick us up and spent the good part of a day with us so we could capture her images.  Cassie's parents are so kind and gentle with her and they definitely did not seem like first time parents.  And mind you, as much as we love photography, Cassie's dad knows lots about it too.  He's a fellow hobbiest.  I was just crossingfingers he would like what we would do.

I love seeing the parents beam with pride when they show off their new little ones and this couple is so in love with their beautiful girl.  We had fun during this session and Cherryl and Noriel definitely wanted us to shoot a variety of poses with Cassie, so we tried to pull off as much as we could.  I am so grateful for my husband dear, Raynan, for helping to bring this shoot to life.  We have this connection during our sessions where he already knows what I am going to say or what I am thinking and this cohesiveness is priceless to me.

Cassie, thank you so much for being the sweet girl that you are, I absolutely loved your session.  Cherryl and Noriel, thank you so much for bringing the your little girl down for the shoot – it was such a pleasure shooting with you all and we look forward to seeing the three of you again soon!  Till our next vacation!

Week 26 - Imortal : Angel Locsin’s new Teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz

Imortal teleserye is a primetime television soap in the Philippines. Aside from the amazing trailer of the said soap by Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz.  A drama romance fantasy and fiction twined together to come up with another first in Pinoy tv series. Imortal teleserye tells of love between two immortals, a werewolf and a vampire bound by the unexpected. Imortal as their acting abilities are, this is the new teleserye that stars the beautiful and sexy Angel Locsin with John Lloyd Cruz. Both were paired for the first time with each other to give a different combination of entertainment and irony to the story. I think this will not be compared with the Twilight saga of Stephanie Meyer.

Oops oops...  Let me begin again, kidding aside!  But really, where do I begin?  I'm at a loss for words for these couple.  These are my brother-in-law and sister-in-law to be.  Although I was not able to attend this photoshoot and credits to my husband dear for the wonderful shots,  I did the editing.

They met when they were still in highschool.  Both teenagers back then- morphed into the man of his dreams and the lady to his all these years.  A decade later, they wanted some sort of "engagement" shoot.  Well, I'm hoping they will be soon.  Anyway, don't they look like they will be happily married.

Thanks to both of you for trusting us to see this side of you.  Your photos made me see how lucky we are as husband and wife.  I was reminded how nice it is to walk life with my best friend... you guess who..

sweet =)

Week 25 - Light Shoot & Edit Part 1

So it's our vacation and just taking advantage of Ruel Tafalla's Photography Boot Camp for Light Shoot and Edit.  Raynan and I were very eager to attend.

So far, what I've learned was lighting is the key element in effective and meaningful portraits.  This workshop showed the tools needed and the lighting techniques. Light defines the mood, the form, the texture and sets the stage for the essence of the subject to shine through.

See how I did in this sample shot with Janine Tyree with a minimal adjustment in photoshop.
